My art is inspired by this dance we all experience between our inner world and outer world - our soul's deepest and innermost whispered callings for stillness and silence, and life's outward, noisy, everyday to do's, responsibilities, and distractions.
Do you remember the saying? – "Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water."
It's so true, isn't it? No matter how Self realized we are, the laundry still needs to be done and the dinner prepared. It's a balancing act to live with one foot in the physical world and the other foot in an entirely other realm, and to celebrate and honor both because they're two sides of the same precious coin.
Art is a powerful healer of our inner and outer spaces. It uplifts our spirit and touches our soul. It brings joy and beauty to our homes and surroundings. It speaks volumes that words can never ever express.
I would love to hear about your experiences living with the art you love, and the ways you bring balance to your inner self and outer self and how it extends into the place or places you call home.

That Wonderful State

Being in that wonderful state makes a life worth living inevitable. Everyone has at one time, or another experienced that wonderful state - a lightness of being, the sheer joy and wonder, happiness and fulfillment of living in a creative flow of expression. Even memories of being in that wonderful state that brought forth our most inspired and creative ideas and expressions can again bring about that wonderful state. From that state, life itself, and everything we do, becomes a work of art and an act of art, whether we’re painting a canvas, baking a pie, singing a song, sweeping a floor, or building a bridge…
